My friend Debbi forwarded me this link to a Fox news story about a cancer patient in Morristown, NJ who is receiving Reiki to help deal with her cancer symptoms and get relief from the side effects of chemotherapy.   I’m glad to see news stories like this, because it helps bring more awareness of what energy healing is to the general public.  I was also pleased to hear that the hospital in Morristown has Reiki practitioners who provide treatments to cancer patients for free!  Reiki is a great way to provide relaxation and support for people who are going through a difficult time physically, emotionally and spiritually as a result of health conditions or diseases like cancer. 

I am happy to announce that I will soon begin offering instruction in Usui Reiki Levels I and II.

Topics and techniques to be covered in this one day class include:

• History of Reiki
• Discussion of “Ki” (“chi” or life force energy) and how Reiki practitioners channel it
• Hand positions for Reiki treatments (treating yourself and others)
• Understanding and using Level II symbols
• Distance healing
• Reiki meditations
• Spiritual protection and “grounding” techniques

Students will also have an opportunity to practice their skills in the classroom setting, which is essential for developing sensitivity and confidence in your ability to channel Reiki to yourself and others. 
I also hold free Reiki healing clinics, which students are encouraged to participate in as a way to practice their skills while providing lovingkindness service to the public.

The first class will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 10 AM – 5 PM.

The holidays are a time for joyful celebration with beloved family and friends, but they can also be very hectic and stressful.  It’s very important that we all have some “me” time to remain balanced during this busy time, so that we can enjoy it with an open and loving heart.  Reiki uses light touch to channel healing energy to help relax your body, mind and spirit and restore positive well-being. 

On Saturday, November 15 from 12- 3 PM, I will be on hand at Lotus of Life Chiropractic to provide 20 minute Reiki sessions for only $20 in a soothing setting with music and aromatherapy.  Light refreshments will also be available.

It’s recommended that you sign up to ensure a spot, but drop-ins are also welcome!
